I’ve always loved black and white photography. There’s something to it that always inspires me.
As they say, less is more. And I agree. I think effective black and white photos should be kept simple. I think light is also an important factor.
I’m not saying these are good black and white photos. These are some of my attempts. They were originally shot as a colored picture and I later converted them into black and white using channel mixer in Photoshop.
The picture Dana is holding was taken during my Uncle’s wedding in Pangasinan. I’m guessing I was 7 or 8 years old here.
The girl beside me is my cousin Donna, who is now much much much taller than me. We were wearing white dresses with a red ribbon around our waists.
Dana asked me who were in the picture and when I told her it was me and my cousin, she said, “that can’t be you, you have long hair and you were much whiter”… Err… okaaaay.
