There isn’t anything more fun than scrapbooking… Until I discovered hybrid scrapbooking, that is.
I’d really like to make all those accordion albums, those pretty boxes and those little houses that you can ‘alter’…Sadly, here in the Philippines, supplies are limited. Although they have some Maya stuff for sale here, they are either expensive or just not available. I had some luck with the mini accordion albums though and I bought one from Rekindled Moments. I also bought a Kaisercraft Hanging Open Album which I haven’t touched and should be working on NOW! LOL
Here is what it looks like now. I have yet to find matching ribbons and I’m having a hard time ‘coz I can’t find any cute ribbons in the shops here… All I’ve seen are those plain ones that don’t even have any designs on them.

I used the quickpages from “Dear Diary” kit at Sweet Shoppe Designs for the front portion of the album. Instead of using the blank pages, I made a couple of layouts using another kit from SSD, “Hey Girlfiend”, so that I can still put pictures at the back portion of the album. I printed them on matte photo paper.
I have completed two hybrid projects since May. The first one was a Mothers’ day gift for my mother. I used a gift set from Shabby Princess. I didn’t have any cardstock so I used plain old moroccan cartolina which was more sturdy than a regular cartolina. I just love making this project and it was quite easy to do.

Recognize that photo? Yap! I used that photo in a layout I made using Faith True’s “Asian Inspired” kit. Anyway, the gift set also came with a free card and envelope template. So I let my daughter write a small note inside the card. My mother loved it. Mission accomplished LOL.

The second hybrid project took me quite a long time. But it was worth it. It was an explosion box and I gave it as a gift for my DH for our three years of being together. Not as husband and wife though. This one was for three years of just being together :) Yeah, I know sounds complicated hee hee.

This time, I had some ribbons with it. But I guess they didn’t match well with the box I made LOL :) I told you, supplies are limited here ;P But I had to make use of something to make the box ‘nicer’ ;P
I plan to do more hybrid stuff soon. Now if only I had time for it :( Anyway, hybrid is such fun. You should try it ;)

Wow, great work sis! I wish I had your patience with paper and hybrid scrapping. As it is, I’d probably end up glueing my fingers together! tsk tsk…
